CEDESOTA is a non-government organization established in 2006 to support organized actions and community initiatives towards addressing poverty issues. The organization was officially registered as a national NGO under the NGO act, number 2 of 2002 on 15tth June 2010 with registration number 00NGO/00003908. The CEDESOTA head office is housed in Arusha. In July 2010, the NGO has opened its first branch in Dodoma.
