The organizations main objective is to contribute to poverty reduction among small holder farmers, pastoralists and agro-pastoralists in Tanzania by addressing social and economic challenges including laws and customs that suppresses women’s and children’s rights, and by promoting human and legal rights education. The long-term objective is to promote and/or support, through education and training, co-operatives and other self-help organisations (SHOs) to improve the functioning of their organisation and to become more self-reliant.
In its strategic plan CEDESOTA has identified five focus areas of intervention for three years, the first is youth and women’s access to land, socio-economic activities, gender mainstreaming, food security and climate change mitigation.
To promote understanding among pastoralists and agro pastoralists on land rights, pastoralism, climate change, environment conservation and sustainable utilization of natural resources.
To sensitize community on civic education, policy analysis, lobbying and advocacy, good governance and democratic leadership.

Strategic Objective
To contributes to the improvement of health care of the target communities through nutrition, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS prevention and management.
Under this program CEDESOTA will implement the following interventions:
– Community Sensitization on sanitation, nutrition, reproductive health, prevention and management of communicable diseases
– Care, Support and Treatment
– HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming and impact mitigation
Strategic Objective
To contribute towards improved pastoralist’s and agro pastoralist’s livelihoods and sustained social economic development with focus on the target communities.
Through this CEDESOTA shall:
– Provide Skills on entrepreneurship, Saving and Credits schemes
– Capacity building trainings on Youth and Women Empowerment and food security
– To promote modern sustainable farming technologies, storage processing and marketing
– Promote Pastoralism and sustainable utilization and conservation of natural resources.
– Climate Change adaptation and Mitigation
Strategic Objective
To contribute towards improved and sustainable living standard of Children under difficult situations and orphans and vulnerable children by facilitating access to basic needs that will positively impact their lives and provide a platform for voice and response.
Through this program CEDESOTA shall engage in:
– Partner with like-minded organizations in resource mobilization, advocacy and awareness creation on Child Rights and Child Participation
– Education and Skills Development for children
– Reproductive health awareness and services to Adolescent
– Mobilization of resources for youth scholarships in vocational studies
– Participate in child related national and international events
Strategic Objective
To Educate Citizens to participate in the public life of democracy and governance, to use their rights and to discharge their responsibilities with the necessary knowledge, skills to create a platform for gender equity for all citizens.
CEDESOTA will deliver on gender and human rights through training on:
– Civic Education, Land Rights, ,Human rights, Lobbying and Advocacy, Gender equality and equity, Networking and Collaboration
